Owner RenalSouth LLC has applied to demolish this bracketed double shotgun to be replaced with a parking lot for existing dialysis clinic (current parking is not adequate to meet zoning requirements, according to application). There was trash along the fence of their current parking lots which were almost empty on the afternoon we took the photos. The need for this parking lot should be justified prior to any approval. The house is in very good shape in general.

The owner of this property is Nguoi Dong Loai, the applicant for the demolition is New Orleans Demolitions. This home is structurally unsound. The owner walked away years ago. The property is under contract and it is unclear what their intention is for the property. The HDLC voted to defer this demolition to get a better assessment and to find out the intention of the owner and outlines of the contract for the sale of the property. It was hard to get a photo of the facade because of the two grand palms in front which would be great if they just had a haircut. This building was very scary to inspect. I heard the voice of Willie White in my head the whole time.

Whenever I see demolition requests for non flooded areas of the City I have to wonder what the motivation is at this paticular time when so much work is being done in the flooded areas. This place had a lot of great period details

This building is a block off of St. Charles. A great location for apartments or condos.

According to the Assesors report the building has been boarded up since 2003.
The application to demolish was denied on 2/20/2006
