The Northwest Carrollton Civic Association was against the Demolition of this Property. We have heard they are planning on moving this house.

We are hoping to be able to document the moving process and gather information.

This should be a very interesting move for a number of reasons. The size of the house, as well as the stucco facade and tile roof.

This house was demolished on or about December 26th, 2006.

This is the house on the other side of the vacant lot. It has not been touched since the storm.

3522 Joliet St. Owner Alma Corona has applied to demolish this single
family residence to be replaced with a vacant lot.

Looks like the owner is trying to sell this house. I used to drive thru this Neighborhood everyday. It was always well kept, these slab on grade houses took on a lot of water.

This house is in great condition in a highly repopulated area between Carrollton Ave. and Leonides Street

I was able to peek inside and see that the house had been gutted and with very little effort could be put to use as a home.

We also have a shotgun in the same area as this house. The floodwaters were much deeper, but because it has plaster walls we were able to remediate the mold and put the house back into use.

The hard part has been done on this paticular house, moving all the wet and ruined contents now it would seem that a bottle of bleach and a scrub brush could turn this place back into a home.
