We have written about the imminent danger list before. The difficulty in tracking this list is that there are simply too many properties listed to maintain an effective overight.
Today a friend called me and told me about this property
This is imy friends route to work and she has watched this property thru 2 renovations, the first time when the owners aquired the property and the second after the flood.
The owners pulled up while we were standing in front of the house. They had been told by the City that there had been a “mix up” and that maybe it was the house across the street that was supposed to be demolished.
The owner was very gracious and showed us her house, which she and her husband have rescued twice.
This is an obvious error but leads one to wonder how many undetected errors are
there?

Un-****-ing believable. The person in charge of this process should be hauled in front of the city council and flogged.

What a beautiful house, and renovation job(s). If the city had a better record of dealing with truly dangerous, unsalvagable properties, I’d be terrified for the owners’ sake. Of course, it’s terrifying to think this might be the case where they “get down to business” - only too possible.

[…] What we are facing here is a new landslide of demolitions, those initiated by the City, and afterwards a potential landslide of shared remorse. I have discovered a number of unwanted demolitions and I have only begun to scratch the surface of the recent City Imminent Danger list and the FEMA list for overlap. […]
