This is not 2240 S. Lopez St. The house at that address is a split-level. Just wanted to let you know.

Sorry, I was incorrect. This is the right house at 2240 S. Lopez St.

It is hard to discern the correct address on this one so I can undersatnd the confusion. It is a split level when viewed from the front.

While in many cases of HCDRC demos, there are alternatives, this house really needs to come down. It’s has been unoccupied for nearly a decade and has been a disgusting blight on the neighborhood for just as long. The picture doesn’t do justice to the amount of ruin on this place.

Such a waste. My wife grew up there 2240 S. Lopez raised by her loving parents Oscar and Lillian Owens. It’s sad to see what has happened to New Orleans up to now.

Ken. That is now a vacant lot.
One of the reasons we started this blog was to remind people of places long gone.

Too bad. I wish you all the best in recovery, but from afar it looks to be a daunting task to bring NOLA back to what it was when I grew up there.
